She is a Certified Juvenile Sex Offender Specialist since 2012 and has 5 years of experience in this specialization. Julie is experienced in, and passionate about, working with children, adolescents and families and has assisted these populations in facilitating positive change and developing a new trajectory for their lives through the use of creative interventions and treatment modalities, including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), structured family therapy, motivational interviewing and experiential therapy techniques.
Julie received her TF CBT training from one of the therapy's developers, Dr. Anthony Mannarino, and is certified in TF-CBT since 2016. She strives to make the learning and application of new skills fun in the therapeutic setting through the use of play, stories, arts and crafts. It is her hope that her clients gain an improved sense of safety and well-being, an enhanced sense of self worth and the belief in themselves that change is possible.
