As an Art Therapist Tiffany believes art is a powerful tool that can be used as a guide through healing. Art can empower an individual to harness and safely explore their personal narrative. As a native of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Tiffany has worked hard in the hopes of bringing Art Therapy to her home town area.
Over the past 15 years Tiffany has worked in child care and development, early education, elementary education support, elementary counseling, mobile therapy for children and their families including Foster child and family unification. In 2015 Tiffany developed a specialized program serving transition aged youth and supporting mental health, designed to empower young adults to fully participant in their future goals, encouraging wellness and emphasizing the value of community. Tiffany has worked within a variety of settings and populations including individual therapy sessions, family Therapy, Group Therapy, Group psychoeducational skill building, Adult Partial Hospitalization, Social and Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Residential Rehabilitation.
In 2017, Tiffany completed the foundation training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy – DBT, a theory that has been successful with many populations but is particularly appropriate for youth who may be high risk to engage in self harm behaviors, impulsivity and struggle to regulate their emotions. DBT teaches and supports valuable skills to increase self-regulation, foster effective communication and develop distress tolerance with the goal of reducing the use of self-harm or suicidal behaviors. As a Marriage and Family Therapist Tiffany is inspired by Bowen Family System Theory which views the family as an emotional unit and strives to recognize the complex interactions which affect the family system. Additionally, Tiffany is a certified suicide prevention trainer from the QPR Institute, presenting and teaching the Question, Persuade, Refer technique in Cumberland and Perry Counties.
Tiffany earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA in 2006. From this interest Tiffany went on to receive a dual Master’s Degree from Notre Dame de Namur, near San Francisco, California, in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy. Her Art Therapy worked is certified through the American Art Therapy Association – AATA and Tiffany is working toward completion of a Board Certification in Art Therapy.
Tiffany enjoys comic books, especially the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, art, movies, video games and spending time with her 5 rescue house bunnies!
